Healthy Families Program Monthly Premiums to
Increase July 1, 2005
Due to a program change, beginning July 1, 2005, the monthly premiums will increase for approximately 25% of families in the Healthy Families Program (HFP). New monthly premiums will be increasing only for families with income in Category C, see chart below.
The new monthly premiums will be between $4 and $15 per child, per month up to a maximum amount of $45 a month for 3 or more children in the family.
Affected families will begin paying the new premium amount with their July 20, 2005 payment. Families that are affected will receive additional information regarding the increase in the mail. The informational packet will provide details about the monthly premium increase and how affected families have the option to fill out a Premium Re-evaluation Form to see if their premium can be lowered. Most HFP families will not be affected by this premium increase and their premium rates will not be changing. If you have questions about the monthly premium increase please call 1-888-673-4469.
