HFP Advisory Panel and Outreach Work Group
Role and Responsibilities:
The Advisory Panel was set up as part of the Healthy Families law to advise the Managed Risk Medical Insurance Board (MRMIB) on policies, regulations, operations, and implementation of the Healthy Families Program (HFP). The Advisory Panel is comprised of 15 members who serve three-year terms on a voluntary basis.
The Healthy Families Program is a state and federal subsidized children's health, dental, and vision insurance program for children in low to moderate income families. The program was implemented on July 1, 1998, and is currently insuring more than 800,000 children.
The Advisory Panel meets on a quarterly basis and the meetings are usually from 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in Sacramento.
